During my board year I was involved with several key moments. After years of development and collaboration with the municipality and other involved parties, the second location of the association opened. "Het Bastion", located in the center of the city of Nijmegen is the new home for 5 watersport associations. We make use of a product of the "Ruimte voor de rivieren" project; the 'Spiegelwaal'.

I was involved in the handling of soft- and hardware repair of laptops that were returned.Het ontvangen van retouren van een van de grootste elektronica retailers van Nederland. A VW Transporter converted to a campervan. Custom 3D designed and CNC machined cabinets combined with a capable electrical system made this van my ideal travel companion (and optionally workspace). In 2026 I did an engine overhaul, replacing the cylinderhead and turbo among other worn engine parts.Een VW Transporter tot op het blanke staal gestript en opnieuw opgebouwd: isolatie, meubels, elektra, water. Elk systeem erin ken ik nu van binnenuit.
In late 2023 I bought a 4x4 VW transporter. It was used by the province of Overijssel for road maintenance and incidents for most of its life. I designed and CNC machined custom interior cabinets and installed everything myself. It has an extensive electrical system with a remote power monitoring and management system. I installed the pop-top roof, requiring the majority of the roof of the van to be cut out. Don't worry; my work was all checked by the Dutch road agency :)Eind 2023 kocht ik een 4x4 VW Transporter. Het grootste deel van zijn leven is hij gebruikt door de provincie Overijssel voor wegonderhoud en incidenten. Ik heb het interieur zelf ontworpen, de kasten op maat CNC-gefreesd en alles zelf ingebouwd. Hij heeft een uitgebreide elektrische installatie met een systeem om het vermogen op afstand te monitoren en te beheren. De hefdak heb ik zelf gemonteerd, waarvoor het grootste deel van het dak van de bus eruit gezaagd moest worden. Geen zorgen: al mijn werk is gekeurd door de RDW :)

The website of NSSV Aeolus is the place where new members are welcomed. They are able to sign up, get an account and track their progress through the introductory course. Existing members are able to book the shared car, view all of the association's surfing equipment and view photo's. https://nssvaeolus.nlDe website van NSSV Aeolus is de plek waar nieuwe leden worden verwelkomd. Zij kunnen zich inschrijven, een account aanmaken en hun voortgang in de introductiecursus volgen. During my board year at NSSV Aeolus I was actively involved with the opening of the watersports center. In collaboration with the municipality of Nijmegen and four other watersport associations we opened our second location at "Het Bastion". To provide the community of information about the center, I was tasked to create the website. With backend tools for associations to add events and managing tasks among other associations this website serves both the community as well as the management of the complex.Tijdens mijn bestuursjaar bij NSSV Aeolus was ik actief betrokken bij de opening van het watersportcentrum. In samenwerking met de gemeente Nijmegen en vier andere watersportverenigingen openden wij onze tweede locatie op "Het Bastion". Om de gemeenschap van informatie over het centrum te voorzien, kreeg ik de taak om de website te maken. Met backendtools waarmee verenigingen evenementen kunnen toevoegen en onder meer taken tussen verenigingen kunnen beheren, dient deze website zowel de gemeenschap als het beheer van het complex.
Unfortunately my van had a big issue; a worn cilinder head. Over time diesel was leaking into the oil, diluting it heavily. This required an engine overhaul, which I decided I would do myself.Helaas had mijn bus een groot probleem: een versleten cilinderkop. Na verloop van tijd lekte er diesel in de olie, waardoor die sterk verdund raakte. Daarvoor was een motorrevisie nodig, en ik besloot die zelf uit te voeren.
Equipped with tools and a workshop manual I tackled the challenge of replacing the cilinder head of my 2.5TDI diesel. Along with it, the camshaft, turbo, glow plugs, and particle filter were replaced. I was forced to do it outdoors, and over the span of a few months of research, late night work and some sleepless nights. It was completed in May of 2026.Uitgerust met gereedschap en een werkplaatshandboek ging ik de uitdaging aan om de cilinderkop van mijn 2.5 TDI diesel te vervangen. Daarbij zijn ook de nokkenas, turbo, gloeibougies en het roetfilter vervangen. Ik was genoodzaakt om dit buiten te doen, en het kostte een paar maanden aan onderzoek, avondwerk en een aantal slapeloze nachten. In mei 2026 was de klus geklaard.
For the Software Engineering course as part of my CS bachelor, we worked as a team for Blueconic. We were tasked with creating an Android application for demoing their SDK.Voor het vak Software Engineering, onderdeel van mijn bachelor Informatica, werkten we als team voor Blueconic. Onze opdracht was het bouwen van een Android-applicatie om hun SDK te demonstreren.
